The South Tyrolean Wine Road
Nals is regarded as the Northern Gate to the South Tyrolean Wine Road. From here, it runs mainly through vineyards. The region around the Wine Road extends to Terlan, Andrian, Bozen, the hills of the Upper Etsch with the towns of Eppan and Kaltern, as well as the slopes around Lake Kaltern. From there, it stretches towards the South to Tramin and then via Kurtatsch into the valley basin with Margreid and Kurtinig, Salurn, which is the ‘border town’ to the neighbouring province of Trentino, then to Neumarkt, Montan, Auer and Pfatten. The villages and town in this area carry the official title ‘an der Weinstrasse’.
Don’t miss the chance to drive along it by car, motor bike or even bike. It is lined with fortresses and castles, farming fields and soft vineyards.
