Fit for Fun – Bicycle tours for all the family

Nals is the ideal starting point for bicycle and mountain bike tours. While the mountainous landscape offers itself for excellent mountain bike tours, the valley is simply ideal for relaxing cycle trips in the nearby area for old and young alike.

Cycling fun for all the family on the following cycling routes:

  • Etsch cycling route (from Meran to Lake Garda)
  • South Tyrolean Wine Road (from Nals to Salurn)
  • Via Claudia Augusta (over-regional cycling path from Donauwörth in Germany to Ostiglia or Altino in Italy)
  • Apple cycling route (from Lana to Nals)

 

Examples of mountain bike tours

Route 1: Nals – Tisen mountain – Nals

Total length: approx. 18 - 20 kms

Description: From the sports field in Nals, you ride along the wine road, which has little traffic, into the direction of Lana. After approximately 3 kms, you come to a crossing. Turn left and follow the sign to Berghang. At the end of the tarmac road the forest path called Moosweg begins. It leads you up a steep hill to Tisens. Shortly before you come to Tisens, you come to another turn. Take the left one and follow path number 2 in the direction of St. Christoph. You will pass the snack bar ‘Unterkasatsch’ and then ride back to Nals.

Riding time: approx. 2 – 3 hours
Grade of difficulty: medium
Difference in altitude: approx. 300 metres


Route 2: Nals – Andrian – Nals

Total length: approx. 10 kms

Description: From the parish church in Nals, you ride along the mountain slope to your right, on the wine road until you come to Andrian. Turn right at the crossroads and follow the tarmac road. When you come to the forest road, follow it until you come to Castle Wolfsthurn. You will pass the Kofler and Regele farmhouses and then the Bittner farmhouse. Then ride in the direction of Sirmian. On the Sirmian Road, turn right and follow the path until you reach Castle Payersberg. From there, you cycle back to your starting point.
